THE September medal at Perdiswell Park Golf Club was a close affair with a countback needed for the winner to be announced.

Both Roy Turner and Duncan Enoch carded a nett 64, but after the countback the medal was awarded to Turner.

Second division prize winner was Arthur Pike with a nett 66, while Ray Day was runner-up with a nett 67.

The seventh round of the Wednesday Summer League for the Presidents Mug was won by Arthur Pike and runner-up was Clive Brown with nett scores of 65 and 66 respectively.

The seventh round of the Wednesday Summer nine-hole league was won by lady member Pat Hill with a creditable nett score of 31, while Day came second with 34.

The seventh round of the Saturday Summer League Stableford competition was won by club captain Adrian Crowley with 42 points with Cyril Misters close behind on 41.

The second division prize winner was John Stoneham with 38 points and runner-up was Day.

Brothers Jason and Neil Allies enjoyed success in the local final of the Daily Telegraph Junior National co-mpetition.

They recovered from being four down at one stage to win the day at the final hole.

The brothers now go through to the regional knockout competition with the top three teams qualifying for the national final in Portugal.

Perdiswell Park have linked up with Worcester City Council to give 20 to 30 children the chance to play Tri-Golf.

The tuition sessions are held on Saturday mornings, are very much fun-based and run by golf professionals Paddy Mullen from Boughton Park, who has put in a great deal of effort in bringing Tri-Golf to Worcester and liaising with local schools, and Perdiswell's Mark Woodward.
