HIGH-flying Hereford United have the chance to make it two wins in four days when they host Terry Butcher's Brentford on Saturday.

Graham Turner's men sit third in League Two after returning to winning ways with a 3-2 victory at Notts County on Tuesday.

That result, which included two goals from Steve Guinan, gave Hereford their fourth away win in five games, with last Saturday's 2-1 reverse at Grimsby the only blip.

Now the Bulls are aiming to build on that when the 16th-placed Bees, beaten 3-2 at home by Dagenham and Redbridge in mid-week, pitch up at Edgar Street.

First-team coach John Trewick said: "Four wins out of five away from home is terrific form. If we can cement that with a home win on Saturday then we're really in business.

"If we had lost at Notts County it would have been two defeats on the trot and it can start to gnaw away at you a little bit."

Hereford have a policy of setting themselves short-term targets of six-game chunks throughout the season and Trewick is pleased with the progress, although he insists nobody is getting carried away.

He said: "We've won two games out of three. If we win two out of the next three I'll be absolutely delighted and that'll do us.

"If we keep going on those lines for the remainder of the season then we will have a good year but we're not looking that far ahead.

"We are very much focused on the here and now. You'd rather be second top than second bottom but nobody's dancing on the rooftops, nobody's getting carried away and the players understand the situation.

"It's a long, long season. We are not even a quarter of the way through yet and lots and lots of things can happen."

Manager Turner has no injury problems ahead of the match but has to decide whether to persist with the side victorious at Meadow Lane.
