MALVERN Town manager Paul Molloy believes his team is capable of victory in the FA Trophy on Saturday despite their disappointing start to the season.

The Langland Stadium side are bottom of Southern League Division One Midlands after taking just one point from their first eight games.

But they can put that to one side on Saturday when Didcot Town, third in Division One South and West, are the visitors in the preliminary round (3pm).

Molloy said: "It's going to be a tough game but we have had them watched and they are beatable so hopefully we can get the right result."

However, Molloy knows his players will have to start taking their chances if they are to progress against the Oxfordshire side.

"It's the same scenario as last year," he added. "We are creating chances but we don't have an out-and-out goalscorer to put them in.

"We are looking for one but, on our budget, we can't afford to get one. I would rather be playing in the league and trying to get some points on the board.

"If you had said at the start of the season we would have one point from eight games I would have laughed. I thought we would have 10 points on the board by now."
