CAROLINE Webley and Emily Cooper are aiming for joy at the 2007 Horse of the Year Show hosted by Birmingham's NEC.

Webley, who has enjoyed a great season and is one of the country's top women riders, is through to the seven-year-old young horse jumping final.

She rides Joan Willett's home-bred horse Alibi III, who made the Horse of the Year Show foxhunter final in 2006.

The chestnut mare has been well placed on the county circuit this summer and gained her ticket at the Wales and West qualifier back in July.

Webley's wins have included area trials at the BSJA Area 38, Bicester and Finmere and Teifi Valley Shows and the national ladies' title at the Scope Festival last month.

She was also runner-up in the Renault Jump Series final at the Royal Berkshire Show to top international William Funnell, riding Barrister QC.

Droitwich 14-year-old Cooper has made the final of the Blue Chip junior newcomers championship for riders aged 16 or under on ponies.

She was runner-up at a qualifier at Summerhouse arena, near Gloucester, riding seven-year-old grey Connemara pony Drumbad Rocky Cove.

The Cooper family bought the gelding from Warwickshire-based Fiona Wingrove two years ago and the pair are trained by Derek Watts.

Cooper, who made the line-up at the 2006 Blue Chip Championships at Solihull with the pony, makes her Horse of the Year debut.
