WORCESTER Valkyries have strengthened their Tyrrells Premier 15s squad with the signing of Wales ace Alisha Butchers.
The 21-year-old flanker has won 20 international caps in the past three years and has joined Valkyries from Scarlets with immediate effect.
Her arrival comes as a boost to Worcester ahead of Saturday's league match against Gloucester-Hartpury at Sixways (2pm).
Director of rugby Roy Davies said: "It’s great to bring Alisha into our squad.
"She has a real physical edge to her game, and despite being relatively young has a great game understanding.
“She has proved herself on the international stage and I’m confident she will be an asset at TP15s level."
Butchers, who played for Wales in the sevens tournament at last year’s Commonwealth Games on Australia’s Gold Coast, is the fifth new player to join Valkyries in the past month.
She follows her former Scarlets back-row colleague Alex Callender, Wales under-18s full-back Kenzie Tutton, fly-half Millie Williams (Cardiff Blues) and flanker Katie Jenkins (Firwood Waterloo).
