PERSHORE'S adventures in West Midlands League One began with a 3-1 defeat at Bloxwich.

The hosts netted twice early on as their forwards got the better of goalkeeper Chris Graham.

Pershore pulled a goal back when a short-corner fell to Vince Crawley and his shot looped into the net.

However, the match was effectively over when the home side grabbed a third goal.

On this showing, there are reasons to be hopeful as the squad returns nearer to full strength for this week's visit of Ludlow.

The seconds won the return match with Bloxwich 5-1. Striker Ali Sanderson scored four goals on his league debut.

Pershore showed some great attacking play from their forward line of Liam Ridings, Sanderson and Steve Quantrell.

Bloxwich pulled a goal back, but Sanderson's blast and a fine individual goal from Quantrell secured the points for Pershore.

The thirds were also victorious, triumphing 2-1 at home to Kingswinford Thirds.

Toby Moore made a number of excellent saves to keep the scores level while Pershore's main attacking threat came courtesy of Gavin Pugh, Joe Taylor and Graham Handley.

Kingswinford netted when Pershore were caught in possession. Handley, Taylor and Karl Lawson combined for Sharratt to unselfishly square the ball to Calum McGillivray who swept home a deserved equaliser.

Handley then popped up to score a scrappy winner.
