UNDER-strength Evesham Women's Firsts lost 3-0 at Harborne Seconds.

A clash of fixtures saw the visitors take to the field three players short and they trailed 2-0 at half-time.

Goalkeeper Charmaine Mitchell proved difficult to beat, while at the other end sole attacker Amanda Barnes was a lonely figure.

It took the hosts until almost half-time to break the resistance but Mitchell was beaten twice before the arrival of reinforcements from an earlier game involving Prince Henry's School.

It was now the turn of the home team to dig in and deny Evesham a way back into the match. Ness Dufty, Katie Robinson and Pippa Goddard all missed chances, while Rhian Fuge saw another effort blocked on the line.

Emma Scott and Sam Witherford defended stoutly at the other end but Harborne broke away to net for a third time and wrap up the win.

Evesham battled gallantly on but couldn't find a consolation that would have been richly deserved.
