RAY Price has turned his attentions to winning a contract in the controversial breakaway Indian Cricket League after rejecting a 12-month deal at Worcestershire.

The Zimbabwean spinner, after bringing his three-and-a-half-year New Road career to an end, has set his heart on joining the rebel Twenty20 league which starts in November The ICL, which is not recognised by either the Board of Control for Cricket in India or the International Cricket Council, will feature stars like Brian Lara, Inzamam-ul Haq and former Worcestershire and Pakistani all-rounder Abdul Razzaq.

"The Indian Cricket League is something that really appeals to me," the soon-to-be father of two said.

"I have made enquiries about it and hopefully I should hear back in a couple of weeks. I know Abdul Razzaq will be playing in it."

The 31-year-old said that he was frustrated by the lack of four-day opportunities presented to him at Worcestershire, but he felt it was a difficult decision to leave New Road.

"No-one wants to be playing 12th man for three-quarters of the season," Price added. "I know I played in all the one-day games, but I wanted to be involved in everything.

"It was disappointing to be only offered a 12-month deal but there was Meanwhile, Josh Knappett has signed his new contract for the 2008 campaign.
