A TALENTED young sporting all-rounder from Droitwich, who one day hopes to represent Great Britain at the Olympics, has been honoured for his long list of achievements.

Jack Coulter has excelled in athletics, breaking long-standing records in the process, and is also a competent rugby player and footballer.

The 12-year-old, a member of Worcester Athletic Club, smashed the 200 metre and high jump records at Droitwich's Witton Middle School, which had stood for 24 and 26 years respectively.

He is also ranked in the top five nationally for the 200m, with a time of 25 seconds, and the high jump for clearing 1.53m.

Coulter was also player-of-the-season for Droitwich Dons Under 12s and man-of-the-match as they finished runners-up in the Stourport and Distirct League Cup.

However, he has since turned his back on football to concentrate on playing for Droitwich Rugby Club Under 12s.

His efforts were recognised when he was named Droitwich Garage Sporting Champion at the Pride of Droitwich Spa Awards after being nominated by teachers from Witton.

Now at Droitwich Spa High School, Coulter beat Droitwich Dolphins Speedo swimming team to the top prize in his category.

His mother Yolande said: "We are so proud of him."
