WORCESTER Hawks retained their Mercian Festival Junior League Under 10s Division Two unbeaten record.

But they were unable to make it three wins in a row, relying on a Tom Jeynes 16th-minute equaliser in a 1-1 draw with Leigh and Bransford Badgers United.

Hawks, top-of-the-table before the match, dominated the second-half after a slow start but could not find the winner.

A thrilling end-to-end match saw Raiders take the lead when Luke Trainer sprinted clear to round the keeper.

Welland drew level with a lob but winger Trainer quickly grabbed his second.

Welland equalised swiftly and Trainer missed a spot-kick. But Faruq Gbadamosi scored his first goal for Raiders before half-time.

Welland conjured another leveller only for sub Fowles to notch two late goals.

He struck with a 30-yard lob and after good work by Aaron Davis and Trainer.

Centre-half Ryan Harris claimed man-of-the-match.

UNDER 14S: Whittington St Peters gave a convincing performance in beating hard-working Droitwich Spartans 6-0 in Division Two.

With Wanderers pressing for the equaliser, Burlish grabbed two more goals from balls played over the defence.

Player-of-the-match Burton scored a consolation with a great turn and finish.
