EVESHAM United manager Paul West is hoping goalkeeper Nathan Vaughan will be fit for Saturday's FA Cup second qualifying round clash at Quorn (3pm).

Vaughan, currently the subject of a seven-day approach from Corby Town, was stretchered off during last Saturday's league defeat against Leamington.

X-rays have since revealed just severe bruising to Vaughan's heel but he remains a doubt for the trip to Leicestershire.

Richard Anstiss was drafted in from Redditch for Tuesday's Errea Cup victory at Stourport Swifts but the Reds do not want him cup-tied.

That means youngster Paul Dipple may get the nod if Vaughan fails to be fit in time.

However, Steve Lutz, Simon Fitter, Lorcan Sheehan and Mark Hands are all expected to return for the match at the UniBond Division One South side, who are likely to include former Robins Gavin O'Toole and Stuart Hamilton. But Tom Warmer, Wayne Lawley and Danny Hodnett are cup-tied.

West said: "Nathan Vaughan is touch and go but hopefully he will be fit. If not, Paul Dipple will come in."

He added: "It's the FA Cup so we want to do well. It's a tough game against Quorn.

"The manager is Marcus Law, an ex-Evesham goalkeeper, and there's a couple of fromer Evesham players so that adds a bit of extra spice."
