PROMOTED Worcester Men's Firsts signed off their friendlies with a goal frenzy before the Midlands Premier Division campaign starts.

Worcester, who visit Mansfield in their opener on Saturday, thumped Stourport Seconds 9-1 at home.

Club captain Jon Sprague (four), Chris Adams (three) and Chris Perry were among the scorers.

Worcester Thirds fought out a goalless draw with Stourport Fourths.

A shaky start saw Worcester under early pressure but staunch defensive work saw them get back into the game.

Stourport started quicker and produced a well-worked move to slot the ball past Sharratt for a deserved early lead.

Worcester reacted in typical fashion and quickly equalised after the ball broke to Hadley who drilled the ball into an empty goal.

The second-half saw a much improved Worcester performance.

Fine passing forced a first penalty corner that Jones firmly dispatched.

A third goal soon arrived when Wycherley raised a fine flick past the despairing dive of the keeper.

Another penalty corner saw Jones double his tally with a fine strike.

A shot from Jones found Dorrell at the back post to score from close range to put the icing on a fine personal performance.

Good performances from Crump and Mullet dominated a one-sided affair.

Owen Edwards scored twice as Worcester Fifths beat Stourport Sixths 4-0.

Two goals in either half ensured they won their final game before the new season.

Jon Podmore scored first with a flick from a short corner and the second came from Edwards who rounded the keeper before scoring.

Worcester continued to be the dominant side in the second-half.

When the ball finally found room in the Stourport area, it fell to Tom Coleman who fired home.

The final goal came from Edwards who rolled the ball over the line after holding off two defenders.

Worcester Sevenths won 3-1 at Old Wolves with Paul Crump bagging a brace.

Old Wolves looked settled from the start and were awarded an early penalty flick that Hurley did well to save.

Worcester soon took control of the game and created many chances.

They started the second-half like the first but were caught on the break and a scramble saw Old Wolves take the lead.

Worcester earned their luck which arrived with Crump levelling from a penalty flick.

A Hampson put them ahead and Crump then converted a second flick.
