STOURPORT Men's Firsts registered their first English Hockey League National North victory of the season.

They beat Telford and Wrekin 6-3 with Imran Yousaf blasting four goals alongside strikes from Phil Lashford and Lee Slip.

In a home weekend double header, Stourport then drew 4-4 with Formby to keep their unbeaten record after three games.

Yousaf hit the target again with Mark Moss (two) and Lashford also scoring.

Stourport Women's Firsts begin their Midland B' campaign at home to Bournville on Saturday.

They won their final friendly in style with an 8-1 romp at Telford and Wrekin.

Jodi Vincent bagged a hat-trick with Katie Fletcher, Melissa Kennedy, Sarah Cavendish, Fran Moss and Alex Totney also scoring.

Stourport began slowly but forced a series of short corners which led to a Moss strike on 10 minutes.

Telford equalised five minutes later but Vincent netted twice to put the visitors 3-1 ahead at half-time.

Stourport showed more spirit and fight to hit five more goals in the second-half, including an effort from player-of-the-match Kennedy.

Kate Bailey and Kerry Walker scored in a tough 5-2 defeat for Stourport Seconds at home to Tenbury in Worcestershire League Division One.

Bailey beat six players to hit a great shot and level an early Tenbury goal.

But Stourport conceded again 30 seconds before half-time and shipped three more goals in 15 minutes during the second period.

A breakaway goal from Walker was merely a consolation.

Stourport Thirds lost 2-0 at Olton in a friendly, despite putting on a good display.

Youngster Lucy Mattocks hit the post with a fine drive but Olton were 2-0 up by the interval.

The fourths romped to a 5-1 friendly success over Tenbury Seconds.

Georgia Hingley, Teri Baron, Julia Hopkins, Natalie Marshall and Caroline Wilson scored.
