A MIXED cage event is set for Worcester's Perdiswell Leisure Centre on Saturday.
Grapple and Strike 13 will be set in a cage to protect the fighters, according to Worcester ju jitsu coach Ross Iannoccaro.
A standard boxing ring was used at previous events but they found the ropes could not sustain the weight of the fighters grappling.
Iannoccaro said both competitors had fallen out of the ring and been injured as a result.
