WORCESTER City begin their FA Youth Cup campaign tomorrow night looking to go one stage better in the competition than last year.
Ray Woods' side came agonisingly close to reaching the first round proper last season when they lost 5-4 on penalties at Hednesford Town in the third qualifying round.
Tonight they travel to Racing Club Warwick, who they beat 4-0 during last year's run, for a first qualifying round clash.
City, who also have a college game at home against Sutton Coldfield tomorrow afternoon, are currently second in Midland Combination Division Two after three wins from four games.
However, they lost 3-0 at home to Austin S&S on Saturday in the first round of the Jack Mould Trophy.
Woods said the FA Cup game would take priority but no player would have to feature in both games.
He added: "We are looking at putting out as strong a side as we can because we want to try and see how far we can go.
"It's been our Achilles' heel. Despite what we have achieved in the last six or seven years we have never got as far as we should have warranted in the FA Cup.
"We feel we have got a decent squad and want to progress but we won't take anything for granted and they will make it tough for us.
"We are prepared and the lads are ready for it."
Elsewhere in the first qualifying round, Malvern Town visit Atherstone Town, Bromsgrove Rovers travel to Coleshill Town and Redditch United host Hednesford.
