STRIKER Hazel Adams scored a 30-yard screamer as Worcester City Women went second in West Midlands Division One South.
Adams let fly with a left-footed effort 20 mintues from time to hand Paul Hennessey's side a 1-0 victory at rivals Fairfield VIlla.
Both sides had chances in a close game but City goalkeeper Jodie Bennett only had one second-half save to make.
Captain Vicky Andrews said: "It was a vital three points. Fairfield will be up there at the end of the season but we had a good performance as well.
"I am very happy with it and I know Paul was as well."
Worcester host bottom side Redditch United at Bilford Road on Sunday (2pm) .
