ONE of the biggest surprises in Worcester Warriors' splendid comeback against Wasps was the impact of forgotten man' Dominic Feau'nati.

The centre, who moved to Sixways from London Irish towards the end of last season, came off the bench to score a vital try and help inspire the hosts' dramatic revival.

When he arrived at Sixways - overweight and out of shape - the 29-year-old Sam-oan international struggled to make an impression and was overlooked by both the team's management and supporters.

However, he has now lost weight, improved his fitness and is rapidly forcing his way into Mike Ruddock's first team plans - especially after Saturday's showing.

Feau'nati said: "My Worces-ter career probably started on Saturday. I was happy to get a game - I worked hard in pre-season and was pleased to take my chance.

"After the Bath game, I knew I would be in the mix and that if I got 10, five or even three minutes I had to touch the ball more than five times to prove something.

"I knew I'd be in the squad on Wednesday, I was really excited in the build-up to Saturday but I would rather have started.

"I tried to get in there and cause some havoc. We have got a pretty basic gameplan going side to side - which is different to last year. I'll just try to fit in and do something for the team.

"I am really optimistic about the future and the club. The trainers and the other players know I am working hard.

"When I came back from the month we had off they noticed I had lost a lot of weight when normally you put weight on."
