BROMYARD'S good start to the season continued with an emphatic 33-15 EDF Energy Junior Vase home victory over Warwickshire-based Trinity Guild.
The hosts, without several first team regulars, were indebted to veterans Malcolm Squire, Paul Harrison and Ian McCulloch, who stepped in and galvanised a forward-dominated encounter.
Bromyard had the best of the early exchanges and full-back Roger Dixon slotted four penalties in the first half to give them a 12-3 lead at the break.
The second-half saw Bromyard in more expansive mode and a break by outside-centre Jason Evans saw flanker Steve Rowberry cross the line for the first try of the tie.
Man-of-the-match Dixon added to his personal tally with a try and a match total of 24 points.
The home side saw off a late rally by Trinity when skipper Nick Legge broke through the defence and launched Rowberry for his second try of the game.
