PERSHORE were thrashed 51-20 at home to Forest of Dean outfit Berry Hill.

The visitors' centre crashed over for an early try, which was duly converted.

Pershore responded almost immediately with a lineout deep in Berry Hill territory.

Captain Toby Grace claimed the ball and from the drive number eight Martin Hope scored. Riley added the conversion to draw the scores level. A penalty for hands in the ruck allowed Riley to slot over another kick.

A catch-and-drive from a lineout by Berry Hill was rewarded with a try to make the score 12-10. Another converted Berry Hill try and penalty, along with another penalty for Riley made the half-time score 22-13.

The visitors then scored from another pushover try and Pershore conceded again straight from the kick-off.

Berry Hill scored another three tries from lineouts.

The game was much more even in open play with the Pershore backs looking dangerous with the ball in hand, none more so than Stefan Ellis who scored a great individual consolation try.
