MALVERN came from a goal down to take a point in a hard fought battle between two young sides in this Southern League Division One Midlands game.

Bryan Craven went close after 15 minutes when he saw his header from a Gary Walker free-kick go inches wide.

Two minutes later, Walker just missed the target when he met a Joel Skyers cross, before Bedworth keeper Andrew Kemp did well to gather the ball when under pressure from Daniel Harding-Hall.

The Warwickshire visitors took the lead against the run of play in the 25th minute when Malvern failed to deal with a Bedworth corner and Gilbert Cummings crept in at the back post to head the ball home.

Malvern continued to attack and in the 37 minute a free-kick taken by Joel Skyers was kicked over by Craven.

Brother Lewis had to be alert three minutes later when he turned away a goal-bound free-kick.

Malvern equalised a minute bef-ore the break when Harding-Hall ran down the left flank before drilling in a shot which was parried back to him to cross for Craven to calmly tap the ball home.

The opening period of the second half was a scrappy affair and it was not until the 66th minute when Malvern got into the Bedworth area.

Following substitutions by both teams the final 10 minutes became very hectic with both teams looking for a winning goal.

Walker saw another header go wide when he met a Joel Skyers cross, before an unmarked Cum-mings went close with a header of his own.

Bedworth then hit the post before Lee Greenway played the ball to Simeon Williams only for Lewis Skyers to pull off a fine save.

Kemp made sure that the visitors went home with a point when he denied Hyde.
