HEREFORD and Worcester schools' athletes secured seven gold medals in the Mason Trophy at Birmingham's Alexander Stadium.
They also bagged seven silvers and three bronzes alongside seven fourth places in the inter-county schools’ track and field event.
Athletes were selected after impressing in the Herefordshire and Worcestershire championships at Worcester and pursued places in July's national competition in Birmingham.
The two counties' team finished fifth with 339 points as West Midlands won with 392.
The junior boys were the most successful group with 109 points for first among the 10 counties.
Mandras Kyeremeh (Bishop of Hereford Bluecoat) won gold in the 100 metres with Callum Brassington-Meehan (Pershore High) taking silver.
Nathan Biggs (North Bromsgrove High) landed the 200m gold and Ben Brinsdon (Heathfield Knoll, Wolverley) triumphed in the 300m.
The quartet combined to win the 4x100m relay.
Matt Burke (Bromsgrove) matched his achievement last year, finishing second in the hammer.
Harry Draper-Barr (Bromsgrove) took silver in the discus while Ollie Smith (Fairfield High, Hereford) leapt to silver in the high jump.
Josh Robins (Trinity High, Redditch) managed bronze in the 1,500m with Luke Richardson (RSA Academy Arrow Vale, Redditch) fourth in the 800m with an English standard time of two minutes 3.48 seconds.
Louis Upton (Bromsgrove) got another fourth place in the 80m hurdles.
The junior girls' team finished a close second in their age group.
Nikita Gotthard-Mills (Ridgeway Academy, Astwood Bank) took the 100m gold with school-mate Lily Saxon claiming silver in the 1,500m.
Poppy Elton (Malvern St James) was fourth in the 800m with an English standard time.
Lily Fennessy (St Mary’s High, Hereford) finished fourth in the javelin and sixth in the discus with school-mate Charlotte Colbert fourth in the hammer.
The best intermediate boys' performance came from the relay team who took golds thanks to Darian Moore (Royal Grammar School Worcester), Matt Griffin (RSA Academy Arrow Vale), Sam Jones (North Bromsgrove High) and Stewart Greenhalgh (South Bromsgrove High).
Greenhalgh had already finished second in the 400m with an English standard time.
Nathan Kelly (Kings School Worcester) picked up the shot put bronze and was sixth in the hammer.
Kieran Valley (Bromsgrove) got fourth in the discus.
The intermediate girls gained three medals.
Danielle Hopkins (The Chase, Malvern) led the way with gold in the high jump and Emma Sherwood (Hagley High) took bronze with both getting English standard times of 1.67m and 1.65m respectively.
Sherwood also achieved an English standard in the long jump with fourth spot while Hopkins was fifth in the shot put.
Orla Walker (Bromsgrove) gained a silver in the 1,500m steeplechase.
Hopkins and Sherwood were also involved in a successful relay with an English standard time of 49.6 alongside Sarah-Jane Ollis (The Chase) and Deanna Clarke (Nunnery Wood High, Worcester).
