AN international rugby star has gone from strength to strength since winning at last year’s City of Worcester Sport Awards.
Ted Hill won the Senior Male Sports Person of the Year, an award which recognises an individual for both their sporting achievements and for their overall contribution to sport through their dedication and commitment.
Ted’s achievements this year have been many; he has been selected for the England under 20’s Elite Player Squad for 2017/18, which is where the team for the Six Nations and World Championship is picked.
Following this selection, Ted played in the Six Nations competing against Wales, Scotland, France and Ireland, and is now hoping to be chosen for the 2018 World Championships in the South of France.
It is not just on the international stage where Ted has made progress – this season he made his first team debut for Worcester Warriors in the Anglo Welsh Cup against Harlequins whilst also being a regular starter in the Aviva Premiership A League.
Nominations are open now for this year's City of Worcester Sport Awards, which are organised by Freedom Leisure and supported by the Worcester News. There are 14 categories.
Matthew Rogers, Freedom Leisure active communities manager, said: “We know Worcester is full of great sporting talent, inspiring stories and dedicated coaches, athletes and clubs, and we can’t wait to showcase these at the 15th annual City of Worcester Sport Awards Evening.
“So if you know a local sporting hero such as Ted who has shown great dedication since August 2017, then show them the recognition they deserve by nominating.”
