MORE than 80 members attended a farewell dinner for popular Evesham Golf Club professional Dan Clee who is leaving after 12 years at Fladbury.
Clee has combined the extensive coaching and retail sales role of a club professional with regular participation on the Worcestershire PGA circuit.
He has won both the match-play and stroke-play county titles.
After a strong amateur career including Worcestershire match-play and open successes, he turned professional in 1997 and worked at Wyre Forest and in Florida before joining Evesham.
In 2011 Clee won the Midland PGA Pro-am qualifier to compete in the national finals abroad in Las Vegas.
His replacement is Rob Steele from Ladbrook Park, another young Midland golfer with both international amateur and professional tour experience.
Clee is leaving the golf industry to work in property designs but will continue to step out onto the course.
