WORCESTERSHIRE Martial Arts celebrated success at their awards evening.
At Worcester's Ravenmeadow and Perdiswell Park Golf Club, the student of the year was Worcester Taekwon-Do's Sarah Lewis.
She has been committed to both training and setting an example for other students.
Lewis helped with running Worcestershire Martial Arts, including organising social and fundraising events with Lisa Perkins who claimed the adult competitor of the year accolade.
The most improved student was Droitwich Taekwon-Do's Brian Synnuck.
He showed progress in his training and development as a martial artist, especially in technique and fitness, as well as becoming a role model for others.
The junior competitor award went to Kieran Hodgson from Worcester Taekwon-Do.
The tiny kwon-do competitor was won by Rois Perkins from the Worcester class.
Perkins was most successful in competitions during the year for her age bracket.
The tiny kwon-do best effort went to Joseph Harris from Worcester.
Harris showed good effort, behaviour and perseverance in the children’s classes for four to eight year olds.
He also attended his first competitions and was successful in the children’s categories.
Worcestershire Martial Arts are a voluntary community interest company formed to bring together people through the sport.
They have several styles on offer but mainly focus on taekwon-do, kickboxing and Korean styles.
This year the group raised nearly £2,000 for Leukaemia Care and donated several bags of goods to the local food bank.
