KEMPSEY'S Sam O’Neill suffered a fractured skull in a freak incident in their 111-run defeat against Avoncroft in Worcestershire League Division Three.
The highly-rated all-rounder was taken to hospital after being stuck on the head while trying to stop a fierce drive.
The injury upset Kempsey who were soundly beaten.
Himbleton's Alistair Pretty hit an unbeaten 102 in an eight-wicket win over Martley, while Malvern beat Astwood Bank.
Rushwick found Himley's bowling to their liking as they racked up 358-7 with John Ingles making 102 and Phil Hamilton, 97, as their team won by 121 runs.
Title-chasing Worcester suffered their second successive defeat, going down by 57 runs to Stourport in Division One.
Ryan Derrick's 87 guided Stourport to 248-7 and then Craig Siwicki (4-22) helped dismiss Worcester for 191.
Improving Colwall won for the third match in a row, crushing Feckenham by 130 runs.
Ben Wheeler (67) top scored in Colwall's 270 all out and then Ancil Nedd grabbed 5-20 to shoot out Feckenham for 140.
Droitwich are the only winless side in the division after a 153-run loss against Eastnor who made 249.
