NORTH Midlands missed out on a National Under 20 Championship semi-final place as they slipped 31-25 to Durham at Luctonians.
Despite two first-half tries from Newport hooker Ellis Moysey North Mids failed to convert further forward pressure after the break into more points and were given a lesson in finishing.
Two tries in the last 10 minutes from lock Sam Lorimer and prop Elliot Beattie took Durham through from the quarter-finals despite a late consolation from skipper Jack Ward (Veseyans).
Wing Jack Hedley also dived over for Durham with full-back Ryan Foreman adding two conversions and four penalties.
North Mids fly-half Connor Adams (Chinnor) added the extras to two tries and kicked two penalties.
