WORCESTERSHIRE are in home action for the first time in 2017 tomorrow and on Tuesday (11am).
They take on local rivals Gloucestershire at Royal Grammar School Worcester’s Flagge Meadow base.
RGS is now the County’s emergency back-up ground should there be a repeat of the summer floods of 2007 at New Road.
The fixture will continue the squad’s pre-season preparations after the 11-day camp in Abu Dhabi and two 50-over defeats to Somerset at Taunton Vale.
Director of cricket Steve Rhodes’ available players are having some valuable match practice ahead of a three-day game with Leeds-Bradford at Weetwood from Friday until Sunday.
The Gloucestershire fixture is likely to follow the same guidelines as the two-day match with Warwickshire in the UAE with one side batting 60 overs and the other the final 30 overs with the process reversed on Tuesday.
There will be no on-site parking for the RGS fixture to avoid the risk of potential damage to the outfield and only limited facilities available to spectators.
Admission is free and fans are advised to bring their own seats.
Meanwhile, Worcestershire seconds defeated Shropshire by 104 runs.
The County scored 239-9 in 50 overs in the friendly at Wrekin College through Alexei Kervezee (96), Alex Hepburn (33) and Ben Twohig (30 not out).
Kervezee took 94 balls with 12 fours.
Shropshire were bowled out for 135 in 38.2 overs as Zen Malik starred with 5-10 and Pat Brown took 2-37.
