WORCESTER Wolves are hoping to unveil their new head coach soon.

The University of Worcester-based club are currently finalising details with their chosen candidate.

They finished interviewing the applicants on Monday and, having spoken to their number one target via video link, he is due to jet into the country to put pen to paper in the coming days.

Director of basketball Mick Donovan said: "The interviews are complete now and we hope to make an announcement very soon.

"We are really excited by the person we have chosen."

Meanwhile, with the British Basketball League expanding to 13 teams ahead of the 2007/08 season, BBL competitions will be subject to certain format changes to accommodate the new clubs.

In the BBL championship, clubs will play each other on three occasions throughout the season, resulting in a 36-game campaign for each team.

The knock-out BBL Cup retains the same format as in previous years with the only difference allowing for Birmingham Panthers, Everton Tigers and PAWS London Capital for 2007/08.

The BBL Trophy will see the teams split into four groups to play each other home and away.

Wolves have been drawn alongside Sheffield Sharks and newcomers Birmingham Panthers in group three.

The team that finishes top of each group will progress to the semi-finals, which assume a one-off knock-out format.

The 2007/08 BBL fixtures are set to be announced tomorrow.
