Ombersley's Briony Serrell was also in good form, recording 38.79 in the classic class, driving a 1600cc Lotus 51A.

Craig Bates, of Worcester, managed to finish third in class J' for cars up to 1600cc as he registered a time of 34.56 in his OMS2000M.

Among the other competitors on the day were Kidder-minster's Chris Martin, who timed 36.22 in his Hi-Tech 1100HS, and Clifton-on-Teme's George Bewley, who managed a best time of 45.64 in his self-built Suzuki 1298cc.

On Sunday, the annual Shelsley Walsh Vintage Meeting in association with the VSCC took place which featured a huge variety of historic racing machinery.
