DROITWICH clinch the RFU Midlands Senior Vase by beating county rivals Evesham 24-7 in a compelling final at Albert Road.
The win means that Droitwich will now host Tarleton from Lancashire, the North champions, in the national semi-finals on April 15.
Evesham fought ferociously to deny Droitwich but were eventually worn down by forward pressure.
Two tries from driving mauls in the second half eventually broke Evesham’s resistance and started the celebrations for Droitwich’s players and supporters.
Fly-half Bobby Scott-Walker contributed 14 of Droitwich’s points which included their third try, three conversions and the opening penalty.
But Evesham pushed them hard with left wing Wilf Watson crossing for a first half try.
Droitwich regained the lead when full-back Matt Hanrahan cut through but a missed penalty proved costly for Evesham.
Evesham absorbed plenty of pressure but they failed to turn their own attacking opportunities into more points.
Instead openside flanker Aron Middleton went over 10 minutes into the second half before Scott-Walker was driven over for the crucial score 10 minutes from time.
