MANAGER Andy Preece is hoping for a home game to kick-off the new season for Worcester City.

The Blue Square North fixtures are released on Tuesday, bringing an end to the long wait for City fans since last season ended with the 1-0 defeat at Harrogate Town on April 28.

Worcester began the last campaign in promising fashion with a 1-0 victory at Barrow but lost 2-1 at Kettering Town the season before.

Boss Preece has been in charge since February 2005 and would like the fixture computer to provide his side with a match at St George's Lane.

"I haven't started with a home game yet," he said.

"It would be nice to have home game in front of a big crowd to get us under way."

Among the dates to look out for will be the local derbies with Redditch United and Nuneaton Borough as well matches against Tamworth and AFC Telford United, both newcomers at either ends of the table.

City's fixtures will appear on www.thisiswcfc.co.uk as soon as they are released.
