KIDDERMINSTER Harriers chairman Barry Norgrove has admitted his surprise at a slump in season ticket sales.

The Aggborough club has sold nearly 200 less early bird' tickets than last season and has extended the deadline until 4.30pm on Friday in a bid to boost sales.

Harriers had hoped to attract more fans on the back of their FA Trophy success, which saw them reach the final at Wembley.

Norgrove said: "Season tickets sales have not gone as well as I was hoping.

"After making it to Wembley I thought there would be a lot more interest in coming to see Harriers next season.

"If there's anything I can do to make it easier for fans to come back, I will."

He added: "We have kept prices the same and spent money on good players, so I'm not sure what more we can do.

"I really want us to beat the number of early bird' tickets we sold last year so I'm asking fans not to forget us.

"What we really need is the fans to come and support the club, we are doing everything we can to make sure we have a good go at promotion next season."

Harriers return for pre-season training on Wednesday, 24 hours after the Blue Square Premier fixtures are released.

Manager Mark Yates said: "We don't mind where we start or who we start against.

"We're looking forward to a decent pre-season at the moment and we'll be working towards getting focused and ready for that first game of the season."

The first league match of the new season is on Saturday, August 11.
