WORCESTER Referees Society enjoyed a successful annual dinner and presentation evening at Worcester's Whitehouse Hotel.
The prestigious Gerald Ashby lifetime achievement award was won by long-standing member Norman Dorr.
The award, presented by Julia Ashby, recognises the service given to the society by Dorr for more than 35 years.
Chris Husband was named most improved referee of the year. The award was presented to the society by the Select Group of Referees and top Premiership referee Peter Walton was in attendance to hand out the trophy.
Member of the year was Trevor Daniel, who narrowly pipped Duncan Kings to lift the trophy for the first time.
Kings won referee of the year, which is based on commitment and marks achieved in the Worcester League.
Assistant referee of the year was won by James Whittington. Marks for this award are given for the candidate's performance, attributes and improvement while running the line in various leagues.
