WORCESTER'S first appearance at Sixways under Mike Ruddock sees them take on London Irish in a double header on September 1.

The clubs will meet in a pre-season friendly with the academy sides battling it out in the curtain-raiser before the first teams lock horns.

Director of rugby Ruddock had originally hoped to play three pre-season games but has shelved plans for a trip to Cardiff because it clashes with the Middlesex Sevens at Twickenham on August 18.

The Sixways chief has promised to send a strong team to that tournament before embarking on a training camp in Devon.

While they are in the south-west, Warriors will take on Plymouth Albion on August 25. Graham Dawe's men impressed last season to finish sixth in National Division One and will provide a stern test at their Brickfields home.

Kick-off times for the London Irish double-header are yet to be confirmed. Tickets for the clash will be available from August 1, priced at £10 for adults and £5 for juniors.

Season ticket and debenture holders will gain admission through their seasonal packages.

Dale Rasmussen has been chosen as Worcester Warriors Supporters Club's player of the year. Gavin Quinnell was the fans' favourite player and Nick Runciman the young player of the year.
