IT was disappointing to lose our game at Northants to the weather, but you can only worry about the things that are in your control.

Northants weren't as keen as us to get the game played. We just wanted to get out there and take advantage of the chance to get some cricket in, but then the heavens opened and ended the game.

Poor weather has been forecast for all of this week too, but we won't let that get us down.

However, when we do actually get to play some cricket it will be good to have Roger Sillence back and fully fit.He bowled a few overs for Barnt Green at the weekend and has fully recovered from his side strain now.

Dewald Nel also played in that game, taking 7-47 and it was excellent for him to do well - that will have been a good confidence-booster for him. We always look out for the Birmingham League results to see how our players have got on and it is very pleasing when they have done well.

Throughout the Twenty20 Cup, we will be using a 14-man squad - it is important to keep everyone together and build a good team spirit.

Having 14 players to choose from means that we could give a bowler a bit of a rest.

Kabir Ali has done an awful lot of bowling already this year and Doug Bollinger has had a lot to do since returning from injury too.

So, with the squad we have got, we could choose to rest one of those guys and someone like Dewald could come in to replace them.

The spirit in the squad at the moment is excellent and we've had a good time of things recently.

Our team spirit has been tested this season, but after our recent strong performances it is really good and there is still loads of banter going on in the dressing room.

As far as the Twenty20 Cup is concerned, I am sure we can win the competition.

We just have to make sure we get into a confident, winning run.

As well as that, we have to not get too disheartened if we do lose the odd game, because I can't see any side going through the whole tournament unbeaten.
