SPEED hill climb action returns to the famous Worcestershire venue of Shelsley Walsh this weekend.

The historic village hosts the Reg Phillips Trophy with the invited championships taking place on Saturday.

On Sunday, it is the annual Shelsley Walsh vintage meeting in association with the Vintage Sports Car Club.

The vintage meeting brings a huge variety of historic racing machinery and, at the top of the list sit the two pre-war ERA's of Mac Hulbert and Paul Richardson.

Hulbert is the current holder of the pre-war hill record and, following the glut of records at the June meeting, will be out to lower his time of 33.71 seconds.

There are also some dramatic pre-war specials such as the ground-shaking 24-litre aero-engined Napier Bentley of Chris Williams and the even larger 27-litre Hispano-engined Delage of Simon Williamson.

Other machinery includes the Racing GN-JAP special of Richard Scaldwell and the famous Shelsley Special GN-Spider II of Martin Spencer.

There will also be a host of racing Lagondas, Austins, Rileys, Bentleys, Bugattis and vintage Vauxhalls.

Shelsley Walsh is AA-signposted and is approximately 10 miles north-west of Wor-cester.

Admission is £12 on Sat-urday and £15 on Sunday while accompanied children under 16 go free.

The admission price includes parking, transfer to the paddock and seated trackside enclosures.
