HEREFORD United's player-of-the-season Rob Purdie has joined Darlington.
The 24-year-old midfielder, also club captain last season, has agreed a two-year deal with the Quakers after rejecting the opportunity to extend his stay at Edgar Street.
Purdie made more than 200 appearances in a Hereford shirt after joining from Leicester in 2002.
Fellow midfielder Sam Gwynne, 19, has put pen to paper on a new 12-month contract at Hereford.
He is the first player to commit himself to the club following the June 19 deadline imposed for players offered deals to decide their futures.
