WORCESTERSHIRE will be hoping to get their Twenty20 Cup campaign under way at the second time of asking after their first game against Northants was ruined by the weather.

Steve Rhodes' men are set to travel to Bristol to take on local rivals Gloucestershire tomorrow (5.30pm), having had to settle for just one point from their abandoned opener.

Despite the wash-out, the County's director of cricket is remaining positive about his side's chances of putting together a successful Twenty20 campaign.

"I'm sure we are good enough to win this competition," he said.

"All of the teams in this competition are capable of beating each other on their day, so we will be making sure we prepare right."

Rhodes has named the same 14-man squad that he took to Wantage Road for tomorrow's clash.

Presuming he sticks with that starting XI, Stephen Moore, Dewald Nel and Daryl Mitchell will be the men to watch from the sidelines.

Moeen Ali, who was set to play against Northants, will be in line to make his Twenty20 Cup debut if the Gloucestershire game goes ahead.

However, Rhodes' thinking behind taking 14 players to each Twenty20 match is to strengthen the team bond and he is planning to give all of the squad players a run-out during the competition.

He added: "Although the Twenty20 games are like half-a-day in terms of overs, it takes a lot out of you.

"We have got four games in the space of a week now, so I will be getting the players to focus more on playing than practicing - it's my job to get the blend right.

"I have picked a squad of 14 players and we'll be keeping them together for each of the games.

"I want all 14 of them to experience the flavour of Twenty20 cricket and I imagine all of them will play some part during the competition."

Worcestershire's matches with Gloucestershire are always keenly-contested but, despite the game being a local derby, Rhodes is treating it just like any other.

He said: "We have not come up against Gloucestershire in any form of cricket so far this season, but they have always been a pretty good one-day side and we won't be taking them lightly.

"We will not be concentrating too much on the opposition, as you would in four-day cricket or the longer one-day games.

"We will be concentrating on the job in hand and getting our game plan right."
