RECENT memorial contest winner Keith Holt had to wait until the last two hours of the Plough AC match to secure another victory on the club's own pool at Broadheath.

Drawn on permanent peg 20, Holt used the same successful tactics as his previous win, presenting cat meat bait into margins to net carp and silver fish for a winning 37lbs 10oz.

Andy Sankey claimed the runner-up prize with an all-carp net going 25-2, using paste bait at just four metres on peg four.

Colin Hope Snr, on peg one, was romping away with the match before losing a big fish which affected his rhythm.

Hope ended with 23-8 of maggot-caught carp, while fourth was Phil Allen on peg seven, weighing 18-6 of margin-taken fish.

On the Plough pool, Porcelain AC held a match with veteran Alan Ryan declared winner with 29-6 from peg 11.

Simon Sanderson topped a close-fought contest at Church Farm pool during the Halfway AC match with 21-10.

On peg 17, Sanderson targeted carp from the margins on luncheon meat. Roger Taylor was second with 20-14 of carp from peg two.

Anthony Primaverina finished third from peg 13 with a mixed bag going 15-14, beating Richard Oliver's 8-10 silver fish net.

Swan AC angler Les Sanders is still drawing end pegs and winning from them.

Sanders was bitterly disappointed with his draw in the club's latest encounter on the canal at Sixways.

But he got his head down to take an excellent 11-13 of bream to two pounds.

Netting around six pounds in the first hour, the former Phoenix river star used bread punch across to the far-side reed-bed.

Towpath ace Mick Samson took 5-5 of roach and skimmers with punch and squatt, while third was Colin Davis using punch before a change to hemp weighed in 3-5.

The Nigel Harvey Memorial is on Sunday, September 2, and details are available from Rod Guise on 01544-231426.

Pete Hughes won his second contest in as many weeks, taking the honours in the Barbourne AC match at the WDUAA Cobb House Farm.

Offering pellet and meat on dam wall peg A13, Hughes netted carp to seven pounds in his 32-2 winning bag.

Craig Davis finished second with a worm-caught 30-8, Lee Griffiths was third with 29-2 of mainly silver fish from B9 and Terry Box took fourth with 27-9. The club's next outing is to their own pool on Saturday.

Brockamin specialist Chris Senter continued his excellent form on his favourite venue with 65-6 during a Monday Evening open on the top pool.

Senter's net included a fine carp of 13-14 which fell for his pellet and paste combination on peg 12.

Runner-up for the second consecutive week was Chris Summers who, after missing his keep-net with a good carp, weighed in a meat-caught weight of 59-4 from peg five.

Mick Turberfield finished third with 30-6, beating a rejuvenated Steve Taylor whose 26-2 of small fish fell to his favourite swimfeeder method on peg eight.
