SILVERSTONE'S International Circuit is the destination this weekend for Rachel Davies as the Evesham teenager bids to improve on her third-placed position in this year's MG Car Club Championship.

Davies is still eligible for junior racing but has made a huge impression in the high-performance championship for 190bhp MGZR and MGF cars in which she is the only girl and the only competitor without a driving licence.

She will be behind the wheel of an ex-factory backed MG Cup car that was built as a race car in 1999.

The front-wheel drive ZRs, meanwhile, are much lighter and easier to handle.

It's Davies' second visit to the Northamptonshire circuit where a previous outing and one at Oulton Park have left her hot on the heels of the leading two contenders ahead of tomorrow's and Sunday's double-header in front of thousands of MG fans.

Her dad Rob is also expected to be in action on Sunday after successfully regaining his race licence after a 12-year gap since his Formula Ford racing days.

Dad and daughter have plans to compete in the Open Endurance race which includes a pit-stop for driver change-over.
