GRAEME Hick is set to have talks with Worcestershire club officials over his future.

The veteran batsman, who turned 41 last month, has hinted he would like to continue playing after this season, providing his game does not go into decline.

Hick was given a new one- year deal for this season and on Sunday became only the 16th player to score 40,000 first-class runs.

County chief executive Mark Newton said: "The situation with Graeme is the same as we always use with any player in the squad who is in the final year of his contract.

"We have a discussion at the beginning of the season to let each other know where we are coming from then agree to meet again at the end of July to update the situation.

"It is not a rigid structure, though, and any player can approach the club to discuss things at any time.

"With Graeme, we both agreed to talk about his contract at the end of July. He has had a terrific season and I wouldn't have thought there would be any problems. I would hope it should be a pretty straight-forward discussion."

Meanwhile, Worcestershire's Dutch international Alexei Kervezee has been reprimanded by the England and Wales Cricket Board following an incident during the Second XI Championship match against Somerset from June 6 to 8.

Kervezee was reported by umpires David Millns and Mike Moran for showing dissent at an umpire's decision .

The penalty remains on Kervezee's record for two years and any further breaches during that period will result in an automatic imposition of three penalty points.
