A WORCESTER team has swept all before them by winning every competition in the St John's Wednesday Pool League.

Fox U', who play out of the Fox pub in Pitmaston Road, have completed the Grand Slam' for the first time in their history. After landing the league title, defeating eight other teams in the process, the team also secured the knockout cup.

Ben Taylor won the league singles event, beating team-mate Nigel Vickman in the final, while Taylor and Jamie Driscoll won the doubles.

Father-and-son duo Shane and Scott Surridge also won the captain's and vice-captain's doubles competition.

Team captain Shane Surridge said: "It's nice to do the clean sweep because we have been so close to doing it in the past few years.

"It's a big achievement for the team and it was a real team performance.

"We did have some close games so we didn't walk it."
