FOUR Worcester riders qualified for the British Riding Clubs Horse Trials Championships after winning the area 18 trials intermediate competition at Broadway.

Dawn Burford, of St John's, Vicki Hancox, of Lower Broadheath, and Rebecca Harris and Elizabeth Evans, both of Fernhill Heath, made up the team.

They beat their nearest rivals by a large margin in the dressage, showjumping and cross-country and now go on to face the winners from all areas of the UK in Warwickshire from August 3 until 5.

Burford was also the individual winner of her section and Harris was second.

Charlotte Harris, also of Worcester and District Riding Club, was placed third individual in the open competition.

Liz Warner and Alice Collins-Young, competing in the novice team, were both third in their sections.
