OMBERSLEY gave an outstanding display of fielding and catching as they hammered visiting Pelsall by 120 runs to go top of Birmingham League Division Three.
The village side batted first and made an indifferent start to be struggling at 29-3 as Roger Weston (6-89) bowled well.
Marcus D'Oliveria, back after being dropped, responded in the best possible manner with a stylish 50.
And Duncan Catterall contributed 47 as the home team recovered to 173-9.
Matt Rawnsley dominated to score 46 and put on 43 with Neil Slade for the last wicket to take Ombersley to 216 all out.
Pelsall were in a confident mood as they started their reply but a devastating opening burst from Catterall with 4-30 soon had them on the back foot.
Overseas player Oswald Jacobs dug in with some stout resistance, making 42 but his team-mates failed to get into double figures.
Catterall was assisted by a superb catch from Jamie Gwynne at short leg, a reflex catch above his head in the gully by Phil Burdon and a stunning low catch at second slip by Simon Mason.
Four other chances were taken as Pelsall crumpled to a meagre 96 in just 26 overs as Slade continued his run of fine form with 4-14 off just five overs.
Ombersley were in the bar for 6.30pm for the second successive weekend and this time claimed a 24-point victory.
