PRIMARY schools from across Worcester came together to compete in the first local Tri Golf competition at Perdiswell Sports Centre.

Tri Golf has proved to be hugely popular in primary schools with teachers delivering this new version of golf in PE lessons and during after-school clubs.

The competition was organised as a result of the increasing popularity of the adapted version of the game that has been designed to introduce more young children to golf.

Schools within the Droit-wich and Worcester City School Sport Partnership have been supported with training and resources through the partnership and by linking with The Golf Foundation.

The competition covers a series of skill challenges such as putting, driving and chipping and is fully inclusive.

Events such as this are part of the partnership's aim to increase the number of young people enjoying sport and physical activity by providing a diverse and wide-ranging series of opportunities for all people to enjoy.

The event was also supported by the county competition manager's team, whose objective it is to increase and improve inter-school competition opportunities.
