CAPTAIN Emily Scarratt led from the front as Great Britain delivered their best performance of the Rio Olympics women's rugby sevens so far to crush highly-fancied Canada.
Scarratt scored two second-half tries that sealed a 22-0 win and ensured GB topped Pool C ahead of a quarter-final appearance.
Former Worcester player Alice Richardson, who hails from Inkberrow, set the ball rolling with an early score before Amy Wilson-Hardy touched down with a brilliant solo effort as Britain took charge of the contest.
Scarratt, England's outstanding player during their 2014 World Cup triumph, then scored twice in quick succession with Richardson adding a conversion.
GB started by following up an opening 29-3 victory over host nation Brazil by crushing Japan 40-0 thanks to touchdowns from Wilson-Hardy, Richardson, Katy McLean, Emily Scott and ex-Worcester players Joanne Watmore and Heather Fisher.
