WORCESTER City have bolstered their ranks ahead of Saturday’s season opener against Harrogate Town (3pm) with the signing of three players.

Winger Nathan Olukanmi, striker Colby Bishop and left-back Cieron Keane have joined the Vanarama National League North outfit and could all feature at the Victoria Ground on the weekend.

The trio were unnamed trialists against Leamington on Saturday, with Olukanmi scored twice in a 2-1 victory.

Manager Carl Heeley said he was delighted to get them on board and revealed he was "very optimistic” of making "upto three" more signings within the next 48 hours.

“It’s great we have been able to add the three lads to the squad,” he said.

“We have been incredibly impressed with their attitudes, work rate and ability during their trial period with the club.

“They all bring different attributes to the squad which we identified needed attention.

"I am very optimistic of being able to announce up to three more signings in time for Saturday’s game although international clearance issues may prevent all three of them being available in time to take part this coming weekend.”

Olukanmi, who hails from Milton Keynes, has earned a deal after making an impressive debut at Leamington. He has previously been part of Aston Villa and Wycombe Wanderers' youth set up before moving to America to play for Siena College in 2011.

City have also been boosted by the signing of former Notts County youngster Bishop, who had a spell at Gloucester City earlier this year and 19-year-old Keane.

The latter made 35 appearances at Nuneaton Town last season as they reached the play-offs.
