EXPERIENCED forward Kyle Perry revealed he has left Worcester City on the eve of the new Vanarama National League North season.

The 6ft 4ins target-man has proved a handful for defences in spells with the likes of AFC Telford United, Port Vale, Mansfield Town, Tamworth, Lincoln City, Nuneaton Town, Altrincham and Hednesford Town.

But Birmingham-born Perry, 30, has sometimes struggled for goals and only scored once in eight games for City after signing from Hednesford in March.

And City manager Carl Heeley appears to have different plans for his attack, possibly based around more pace, ahead of Saturday's home opener with Harrogate Town at Bromsgrove's Victoria Ground (3pm).

Perry said on Instagram: "It seems my season at Worcester FC has finished before it has even started!

"Agreeing a contract in May and then bombed 4 days before the start of the season is a new one and not cool!"

Despite not being prolific, Perry contributed to City's successful survival bid with his presence up front last season and then agreed to stay with Heeley's side for the coming campaign before his sudden exit today.
