TWO Droitwich Spa Judo Kan players, Liam Jones and Eve Skillern, went to Kidderminster’s Samurai club for the British schools’ special-needs competition.
Jones showed excellent skill and determination in his fights to come away with a bronze medal.
Skillern, in her first competition, managed to put up a great show against rivals with much more experience and also secured a bronze.
On the same day, Droitwich took members to Stockland Green, Birmingham, to compete for their grades.
Many were first-time graders and it turned out to be a long but rewarding day for them all.
Nobody came away disappointed and now the club can boast a variety of colours on the mat each week.
Those who graded in the mini ninjas category were Jack Stenmark-Morrish, Eve Skillern, Lily May Degenkolb, Jake Andrews, Molly Charlwood, Ellie Bullock, Kuba Krol, Harry Evans, Sian Evans, David Morrish and Megan Skillern.
