WORCESTER City manager Andy Preece is hopeful of signing at least one new player within the next week.
Preece is currently in talks with two unnamed transfer targets as he attempts to bolster his squad for the Blue Square North campaign.
Rapinder Gill, signed late last season from Bromsgrove Rovers, is the only new face currently in the fold ahead of pre-season training.
Solihull Moors captain Lee Collins has already turned down a move to St George's Lane but Preece is confident of new arrivals.
He said: "I'm talking to a couple of players and hopefully we can sort something out in the next seven days. It's been pretty quiet but there's a lot of hard work been going on behind the scenes for a long time."
Striker Troy Wood is close to signing a new 12-month contract and Preece expects midfielder Shaun Findlay, the only player left to make a decision, to pledge his future to the club shortly.
Meanwhile, Boston United's demotion to Blue Square North has given City an unexpected trip to Lincolnshire next season.
Preece said: "If they come in with the money that they were paying in League Two last season they're going to be a massive threat in the league.
"But if their budget falls into line, I would have thought Altrincham would have been a tougher proposition."
